6-28 Predictions

We got to double digit wins yesterday! Do it again today!  On a side note we have Trevor Bauer making his Major League Debut for the Diamondbacks today, and in the Triple A affiliate of the Mariners you have Danny Hultzen going against Jamie Moyer.  Should make for a great day of baseball.

Burnett goes for his eighth consecutive winning start, which would match the run Dock Ellis had for the 1974 Pirates. Though comfortable at PNC Park, Burnett has had issues on the road, giving up five homers in 26 1/3 innings.

Kendrick has really struggled in his past four starts, carrying an 8.10 ERA in that span. To make matters worse, he has lasted just four innings twice and has pitched six innings just once. He's hoping for better Thursday.

Jackson took a perfect game into the fifth inning of his last start on Saturday vs. the Orioles, though his pitch count rose quickly not long after. He allowed one run on four hits in 6 1/3 innings, striking out five batters while walking just one.

Outman was painfully close to his first win on Saturday, but exited with two out in the fifth -- then was charged with five earned, insult to injury after holding the Rangers to one run through four. The 92 pitches were the most he's thrown all year.

Axelrod went to five full counts against the Brewers, but never walked a hitter over 5 1/3 innings, although he did hit two. He allowed four earned runs and fanned three as a rotation replacement for Philip Humber.

Nova saw his streak of five consecutive wins end his last time out, but the Yankees got him off the hook after he allowed three runs -- two earned -- in 5 2/3 innings against the Mets. He is 2-0 with a 1.37 ERA in three starts against the White Sox.

Two days after his brother's death, Scherzer rejoined the team and pitched six quality innings last Saturday at Pittsburgh, his damage coming on Andrew McCutchen's three-run homer. He's winless in three starts against Tampa Bay despite a 3.06 ERA.
