Cubs (Samardzija) vs Marlins (Nolasco)

Jeff Samardzija has been one of the few bright spots for the Cubs this year, and he looks to continue his hot start against the Marlins.  I have picked against him in his first 2 starts of 2012 and he has made me pay.  I am going to pick the hot hand here and say Samadzija and the Cubs get the win and snap the 5-game losing streak they have.

Pick: Cubs

Dodgers (Harang) vs Brewers (Wolf)

The dodgers turn to Aaron Harang to snap their first losing streak of the season.  In his last start Harang struck out 9 batters in a row but still didn't get the win.  Corey Hart and Nyjer Morgan both have had a lot of success against Harang in their careers and everyone has had success against Randy Wolf so far in 2012. The Dodgers will win this game and get back on the winning side.

Pick: Dodgers

Reds (Arroyo) vs Cardinals (Wainwright)

The Cincinnati Reds offense has been sputtering of late, scoring 1 or 0 runs in 4 of the last 5 games they have played.  They either will continue that trend or will blow up and it will depend on which Adam Wainwright will show up for the Cardinals.  The one that pitched well in his first start or the one that got shelled in his next.  I think it will be somewhere in between but it won't be enough as the Reds win.

Pick: Reds

Orioles (Hammell) vs White Sox (Floyd)

Jason Hammell and the Baltimore Orioles look to get another series win today at the hands of the White Sox.  Chicago is countering with Gavin Floyd, who shut down the might Detroit Tigers lineup in his last start.   After getting a great start from Jake Peavy last night, Chicago will get another good one from Floyd and win the series.

Pick: White Sox

Astros (Norris) vs Nationals (Jackson)

I know that the Astros won't lose every game this year and I know that the Nationals won't win every game this year.  With that being said I think that the Nationals will win today and sweep the series from Houston.  Washington has gotten outstanding starting pitching so far this year and it will continue today as Edwin Jackson will get the win.

Pick: Nationals

Twins (Swarzak) vs Yankees (Hughes)

Phil Hughes tries to right the ship for his 2012 campaign and help the Yankees get a split in the series against the lowly Twins.  It is possible that the Yankees are overlooking the Twins because they have a big series against the Red Sox over the weekend.  Hughes has had success against Minnesota and the Yankees need him to pitch well today. I predict that he will and that the Yankees will get the split in the series.

Pick: Yankees

Rangers (Darvish) vs Tigers (Wilk)

The two best teams in the American League are going at it and the series starts today.  Yu Darvish has struggled with his command in his first two starts and now he faces a dynamic offense in the Tigers.  This isn't the Mariners or Twins you are facing Yu so you better bring your A game.  I predict that the Tigers will get to Darvish and win this game.

Pick: Tigers

Rays (Hellickson) vs Blue Jays (Alvarez)

Tampa Bay will win this game behind the pitching of Rookie of the Year Jeremy Hellickson.  I trust the Rays pitching more than the Blue Jays and I consider the lineups a wash.  I think that Hellickson will bounce back after an atrocious outing in Boston and get the win for Tampa Bay.

Pick: Rays

Braves (Minor) vs Diamondbacks (Collmenter)

After finally picking a Braves Mets game correctly for the first time in 6 tries the Braves move on to face the Arizona Diamondbacks.  Both teams come in with 7-5 records and the Braves have that after starting 0-4.  They are getting good starting pitching and I think that will continue tonight.  With both Chris Young and Justin Upton not being able to play the Diamondbacks offense isn't as scary and the Braves will take advantage.

Pick: Braves

Athletics (Milone) vs Angels (Wilson)

As bad as Albert Pujols has been so far for the Angels that is how good the other big free agent signing has been for them.  C.J Wilson looks to continue his hot start against a familiar foe and he has had a lot of success against the Athletics.  I know I pick the Angels a lot but I think they will win tonight.  In fact this is my lock of the day.

Pick: Angels.  This is my lock of the day.

Phillies (Worley) vs Padres (Weiland)

After that electrifying 1-0 game yesterday the Phillies are right back at it today facing the Padres in the opener of a 4-game series.  Cliff Lee pitched brilliantly for 10 innings but the offense couldn't score a run.  Fortunately for the Phillies they are going against a far worse offense then their own and they will get the win today.

Pick: Phillies

Mariners (Hernandez) vs Indians (Tomlin)

Felix has got to be excited he isn't facing the Oakland Athletics.  After his first 3 starts have all come against Oakland he gets to face something new in Cleveland.  Even though his velocity still isn't where it was last year Felix is still an elite pitcher and will pitch like one tonight.  Mariners win and take the series from the Indians.

Pick: Mariners
